We had the privilege of hosting the Ignite Accelerator at the Centre last week. Ignite is one of the UK's longest running tech accelerators, established back in 2011, and they just keep on innovating.
With Ignite 2.0 the team are really shaking up the well established concept of what a tech accelerator should be. You can read more on their new model in this Medium post from CEO Tristan Watson.
While at The Bradfield the teams experienced two days packed with pitching, content, mentoring and networking. Sessions from the offsite included test driven marketing with Bailey Kursar (Monzo's ex Head of Marketing), a fireside chat with Patients Know Best's Dr. Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, and Ignite CEO Tristan Watson sharing his very own startup journey. We also had Alex Van Someren (Amadeus Capital), machine learning specialist Sadiq Jaffer, Mat Clayton (Mixcloud), Jon Bradford and many other incredible mentors joining for the 1-1 mentoring with teams.
The Ignite Programme Directors let us know what they thought of their time in Cambridge,

We bring our community together once a month for a 48hr 'offsite' in a different UK city. We invite current portfolio teams, as well as founders from previous programmes (dating back to Ignite's launch in 2011) and companies at the last stage of our rolling application process. During the two days, founders cover specific topics in both 1-1 mentoring and group workshops, tapping into the shared knowledge from across our network. Everyone leaves with actionable advice to implement on their startups immediately.

The Bradfield Centre is an incredible space that helped us make the most of our time in Cambridge. Combining the best the city has to offer with both startups and scale ups, the venue gave us everything we needed. Fantastic event space in the auditorium, comfortable and private mentoring/ breakout spaces and great cafe facilities (as well as a happy community of ducks). We look forward to being back soon!
We can’t wait to have you back!
